Underwater Picture Taken
While you explore Maalifushi's blooming house reef, have Spiers or Hoksbergen take underwater photographs of you. Included: Scuba gear, a guide and a photographer's services, and digital copies of at least five high-resolution pictures.
Instruction in Underwater Photography
With a full day of private instruction from Spiers or Hoksbergen, develop your underwater vision. Take two dives to get your pictures, then study them when you get back to the resort so you can edit them. Two scuba dives, a private guide and photographer, a post-production session, and lunch for two are all included.
COMO Discussion
Spiers and Hoksbergen will moderate a COMO Conversation every week where they will discuss their forays into underwater photography, their favourite underwater anecdotes, and any current observations they have made regarding the marine life in and around the resort. The event is open to everyone.
COMO's play
Each week, Spiers and Hoksbergen will also feature a range of events for younger visitors, including Marine Walks, Aquatic Detectives, and more.
With regards to Henley Spiers and Jade Hoksbergen
British-French underwater photographer and diving instructor Henley Spiers has a long-standing partnership with COMO Hotels & Resorts. His images were featured at the Natural History Museum in London's "Wildlife Photography of the Year" exhibition and received the Grand Prize for the Hamdan International Photography Award. Spiers' images of our locations took home the top honours in the Festisub Duo Mer and UN World Oceans Day competitions. Additionally, Spiers was tasked with taking photos for the Nekton Maldives Mission, the country's first study of its oceans at a depth of 1,000 metres.
French-Taiwanese artist Jade Hoksbergen is equally skilled with a paintbrush as she is with a camera. The underwater photography of Hoksbergen captures the little aquatic delights, such as the hidden marine life in every reef. Numerous of her photos have appeared in publications, won prizes, and been put on canvases all around the world. Hoksbergen has been on numerous magazine covers and is at ease in front of the camera as an underwater model.
Co-authors of two books, Spiers and Hoksbergen are dedicated to educating people about the ocean's beauties. They are proud participants in the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment, an association of top scientists and underwater photographers working to protect the oceans. They have two young girls and reside in Devon, England.
