What White Sand Dhigurah Delivers

The beach at Dhigurah performs differently at different points of the day an important fact for guests who assume a single beach experience repeats itself. At 6am, the northern tip catches the first light and produces a sand colour and water quality that no photographer has ever adequately captured. At noon, the full length is bright and hot and populated by the sort of happiness that comes from being exactly where you should be. Walk from the hotel to the northern tip of Dhigurah beach at sunrise all the way. The northern beach tip at first light is the specific version of Dhigurah that stays with you longest after departure. Leave at 5:45am, walk the full 2.5km north, and reach the tip as the sun clears the horizon. Turn around and walk back. The whole exercise takes 90 minutes and produces the single best free experience available on the island.

Book the manta ray dive, not just the whale shark snorkel. Most guests on Dhigurah prioritise the whale shark encounter (correctly). Fewer specifically book the manta ray cleaning station dive and those who do consistently rate it above the whale shark encounter in terms of pure underwater intimacy. The manta sits at the cleaning station for minutes at a time, in close proximity, completely indifferent to your presence. The whale shark moves through. The manta stays.
