Maldives welcomed the one millionth tourist to visit 2024

The Maldives has welcomed its one-millionth traveller for 2024. Sutapa Amonwivat, a Thai national, arrived from Singapore with her husband and two kids, creation her second visit to the atoll nation.

Visit Maldives hosted a very unique occasion in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism to celebrate this grand milestone at Velana International Airport today, joined by other management authorities such as the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Maldives Immigration, and Maldives Customs Service beside with different Industry stakeholders. February 2024, was a record breaking month as Maldives experience the maximum number of arrivals, more than 217394 tourists during the month only. This celebration emphasised the planned efforts of MMPRC and the government to additional develop tourism plans.
