The Island

The Island

The picturesque Maldivian fishing village of Guraidhoo is found on the eastern edge of the atoll. It has 1,800 residents and is surrounded by reefs teeming with fascinating marine life. Guraidhoo was typically used as a safe haven for rulers during political unrest and attempted attacks. One explanation for this might be that the complex reef removal made it challenging for uninitiated boats to locate an entrance to the island.

It is more subdued and can be found a little further south of the well-known Maafushi. The island can give you a more authentic Maldivian experience because it has a lower percentage of common travellers. Since quite some time ago, the friendliness of its residents and the numerous souvenir shops lining the main street have drawn tourists from nearby resorts and passing liveaboards.

While exploring the island, you will find an emergency room, police, a pharmacy, a children's jungle gym, a school, a mosque, a number of trinket shops, three bistros and cafés, and two diving habitats in addition to some minimarkets that sell the necessities.

The Beach

The Beach

The adjacent island of Lhosfushi, which is connected to Guraidhoo by a pleasant scaffold, has a traveller sea shore but there isn't one on the actual island. Lhosfushi is a remote area created especially for tourists. You can swim and sunbathe in a two-piece here, but the swimming is difficult due to the shallow waters and a lot of dead coral. Surfers typically congregate on this island's southern shore, which has good waves.

Despite the Occasion Motel Resort Kandooma Maldives, Guraidhoo has a fantastic semi-legal swimsuit beach. Additionally, some of Guraidhoo's guest houses offer their own private seashores to guests. On the actual island, there is no two-piece beachwear.

Guraidhoo's home reef is a good place to go swimming to fully appreciate the amazing marine life of the Maldives. If you've never been swimming before, some guest houses provide a guide for the house reef to help you become proficient with the stray swimming skills. Once you become familiar with it, you can venture out into the various reefs surrounding the atoll to gain more experience. Please take note that swimming equipment is not free; if you plan to swim a lot, please bring your own veil and balances.

Most visitors prefer to eat in their accommodations even though a few cafés have a seaside area with a view of the ocean. The food is delicious, and you have a good selection of different food options. Typically, lunch is by menu, and dinner is a smorgasbord. Espresso and tea making facilities are available in every room. The nearby gourmet experts provide mouthwatering options for every whim, perfect for every sense of taste at any time of day. It's a good idea to start the day with a hearty Maldivian breakfast or a wholesome light snack; try creative local and international top picks prepared with new fixings, such as new fish and fish.

A good variety of delectable dishes from around the world should be available on the menus. And to give you a taste of Maldivian cuisine, some restaurants include some of the most cherished regional dishes on their menu. We recommend a barbeque lunch and special private dinners by the seashore to make your dining experience even more memorable. For those who prefer vegetables and those on special diets, the majority of restaurants also offer dinner specials.

On inhabited islands, drinking is not permitted, so join your neighbours in abiding by the dry law.
